Setting Your User Account Settings

You can set what types of notifications you receive from BLEND. Your student will need to set up their own account settings. You may consider sitting down with your student and assisting them in this process. 

- Change your notification preferences. Links to an external site. These preferences only apply to you; they do not apply to your student. Notification settings apply to all courses you are observing; you cannot change settings for individual courses.

Users who have an Observer role within a course currently only receive notifications for actions related to the following preferences:

Course Content Do Not Send Weekly

When a teacher makes changes and selects checkbox "Notify users that this content has changed" for:

  • assignments
  • quizzes
  • pages
Announcement Notify Me Right Away Notify Me Right Away
  • New Announcement Created
Grading Notify Me Right Away Weekly
  • Grade is entered  or changed for an Assignment/Submission
  • Grade is entered or changed for a Quiz
  • Assignment Grade is Unmuted
Invitation Notify Me Right Away Notify Me Right Away
  • Invitees are Added to a Web Conference
Submission Comment Daily Daily
  • Comment Added to an Assignment Submission
  • Instructor Re-Uploads Assignment Submissions

*Notifications include the text of the submission comment, the creator of the comment, the course, and assignment name.
